Introducing my newest smoothie obsession! This acai berry smoothie bowl is packed with loads of fruit veggies and protein, it is bound to keep you full and taste delicious!
This smoothie is so packed with nutrients, you get almost 50% of your daily recommended vitamins just from one serving! It is especially loaded with vitamin K, A, C, Omega-3 and magnesium!
The smoothie:
You may find it odd that this bowl has zucchini in it, but do not be scared. The zucchini adds extra creaminess with no added taste, plus extra nutrients. In fact I started adding zucchini to all my smoothies, not for the health benefits, just to make them creamier!
Note: smoothie bowls work best in a high speed blender. If you do not have one it is best blended as a smoothie.
Acai Berry Powder – is very high in anti-oxidants, fibre and heart healthy fats, as well as a yummy addition to any smoothie! It can be expensive, so feel to omit it for this recipe.
I find it cheapest when you order off amazon, in Canada (the one I purchase linked above). In the US it may be cheaper in a large health food store such as Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s or on Thrive Market.
Did you even eat a smoothie bowl if you didn’t Instagram it? Be sure to add lots of toppings to your acai bowl! I added berries, coconut and puffed quinoa. But feel free to get creative! It would be great with some Chai granola or even some pumpkin spice granola.

- 1 Banana
- ½ Cup frozen blueberries
- ¼ Cup frozen raspberries
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp acai powder
- ¼ of a zucchini
- 1 handful of spinach
- Dash of cinnamon
- 1 tbsp each: chai seeds, hemp seeds, ground flax (optional)
- ~1/2 Cup of water or plant milk to blend
- Toppings:
- Fresh berries
- Banana
- Granola
- Coconut
- Cacao nibs
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth!
- Trick for making creamy bowls: Add the banana and frozen berries to blender first with a little bit of water or milk. Use the tamper to blend smooth. I find it best when its blended on a lower setting, and increased. Then add the remaining ingredients and blend. By adding seeds, the bowl will become grainier.
