Hot Chocolate

Vegan hot chocolate sugar free made with raw cacao powder

Hot cocoa is one of my favourite things to have in the winter which makes sense, because I love chocolate and hate being cold. I have made vegan hot chocolate many different ways but this is my favourite so far so I thought I’d share. Instead of making this on the stove an foaming the milk, I pour the ingredients and hot water in the blender to make it warm and frothy all at once!

Ingredients:

All of these can be found cheaply at your local bulk food store or order on amazon (links below).

Raw Cacao (can sub cocoa powder) is full of oxidants and gives a rich chocolatey flavour. Medjool Dates make it sweet! These are extra sticky and gooey dates, but be sure to remove the pits first. If you cannot find these add 1-2 regular dates soaked in hot water first (so they blend nicely).

Coconut Butter makes it creamy! This can be harder to find, feel free to sub shredded coconut or a handful of cashews for the same affect. *If you do this make sure you have a high powered blender which can blend nuts!

To make this recipe I used the almond coconut milk from the blog, and it was super rich and creamy!

Voila! If you make this I would love to see how it turned out! Leave a comment below, tag @PlentyfullVegan on Instagram or send me a DM! I love see your creations, and am always free to answer any questions!
